SEVERANCE THERAPY

OUR TEAM
"The hearts behind the healing"

Sean Pugh, LCSW
I have a deep passion for supporting clients who are navigating challenges related to alcohol and substance abuse, as well as those working through adjustment issues surrounding LGBTQIA+ identities. These are deeply personal and sometimes overwhelming experiences, and I strive to provide guidance that helps individuals make thoughtful, informed decisions about their life paths and any big changes they may be considering.Sometimes, we just need a space to talk things out—a space where our thoughts and feelings can be heard, validated, and explored without fear of judgment.
That’s where I come in. I offer an open and supportive environment where you can sort through the complexities of your situation, break down overwhelming choices into manageable steps, and gain clarity on what truly matters to you.I pride myself on being a compassionate, non-judgmental listener. My approach is rooted in calmness, clear-headedness, and a blend of practical wisdom, experience, and even a little humor to keep things grounded. I believe that self-discovery and change don’t have to feel like solitary struggles; they can be collaborative, insightful, and, at times, even enlightening.
Everyone faces difficulties at some point in their lives. My goal is to help clients feel less alone in their challenges, offering a space where they feel seen, heard, and supported. No matter where you are on your journey, I will meet you there—mentally and emotionally—helping you explore your needs, desires, and goals without fear of criticism or negativity. Together, we can work toward clarity, growth, and a path forward that truly aligns with who you are and where you want to be.

Hi, I’m Michael.
I am currently a student at the University of Houston studying to earn my graduate degree in social work and eventually become a licensed clinical social worker. I have a few years of experience serving in various roles to assist diverse populations, from college students to incarcerated women.
My motivations to pursue my career extend from my grandmother and the values she has taught me from a young age, such as to help others when they need it, we are all created equal, and be yourself while having fun. My grandma is definitely a big part of my life. She owned a women’s bar and was a major advocate for the LGBTQ+ community in Oklahoma City. Additionally, as a bisexual male, I want to be a leader and essentially follow in my grandma’s footsteps by being an advocate and spreading the unique knowledge of LGBTQ+ history and bring a sense of belonging and inclusion into the community. I’d like to take my philosophy of “teamwork makes the dream work” and my learned skills thus far into a community and space that is very personal to me.
