SEVERANCE THERAPY

Denise Garcia
LCSW
Hi there! I’m Denise (she/ella), a bilingual (English/Spanish) Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I’m also a queer, first-generation child of Cuban immigrants, born and raised in Miami, Florida. I’ve been in the mental health field for over 6 years providing trauma-informed therapy to people of diverse backgrounds and identities.
I enjoy supporting individuals and couples looking to deepen their relationships with themselves, their people, and their communities, and to navigate the world in a more meaningful way. I strive to create a warm, safe space, free of judgment or shame — a space where you feel welcome to come just as you are, as your most authentic self. As someone who holds intersecting identities, I know how difficult it can be to find a provider who GETS IT. It’s a big reason why I feel so passionate about being a therapist.
My approach to therapy can be described as relational, collaborative, and culturally affirming. I work from a social justice lens and integrate various modalities including Relational-Cultural, Attachment, Polyvagal, EMDR, Interpersonal Neurobiology, Mindfulness, and CBT.
